Since 1976 Stia, now Pratovecchio Stia (after merging), is the town of wrought iron, in fact the spark that gave birth to the first Biennial, was an intuition of the former mayor Vittoriano Frulloni born from an idea of Piero Della Bordella that allowed the first edition. Learning to do and the sedimentation of experiences led us to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Biennial World Championship forging last year.
Pratovecchio-Stia is located within the Casentino Forest Park, rich in history and monuments: parish churches and castles.
Dante, the father of the Italian language, lived in Stia, in Porciano Caste, when he was exiled from Florence
We are very proud to be member of the Iron Ring since 2001, as well we were among the proponents and founding members.
