of the Erasmus+ Project 2015 to 2017
This is the complete collection of the project-outputs generated with EU-fundings by the Erasmus+-project group. The project partners and the Ring of European Cities of Iron Works consider it important to make the data available to the public.
Please find the official summary of the project at the ERASMUS+ PROJECT RESULTS database:
Between 2015 and 2017 the partners of the European Iron Academy (further named EIA) researched the current state of forging and metal education in European countries (EU). The conclusion was that no European further education in forging and metal education currently exists. Following the results of a questionnaire (sent to various European countries), a matrix was created presenting the data on forging and metal education in European countries. Also, a list was made of competences on EQF level (final attainments). During a Multiplier Event in November 2017 the stakeholders expressed their desire to expand and upgrade their education, this in collaboration with an EIA.
On this website now the output of the EIA-Erasmus+-Project is presented and a documentation of the studies that were done on both the existing forging and metal education. Various educational institutes/companies have already requested to make use of the studies done by the EIA.
These are: AIMSAD (Woodworking Machinery and Side Industries Association of Turkey), Hereford College of Arts in England, Couleurs de Forge in France and The Foundation „Ambacht Academy“ in cooperation with CINOP Netherlands.

This project-page of the Ring of European Cities of Iron Works includes a database of the generated content. It is a substitute for the original EIA webpage that was taken out by the EIA project coordinator.
The development steps of the website by the project partners of the European Iron Academy Erasmus+ project is displayed with following PDF-documents.
The website for the EIA project was a database collection of the generated data, and it was conceptualized as a future database for searching vocational education and training providers, to the benefit of interested future blacksmith students.
